Police officers were able to apprehend the shooter shortly after the incident.
During the arrest, the suspect attempted to explain his actions, claiming he had long endured mistreatment from the victim.
“Kaya ko binaril ‘yun, sir, lagi na lang akong minumura, sir. Tapos lagi akong pinapahiya sa mga maraming tao,” says the suspect.
The wife of the victim has chosen not to issue a statement for now, as the family continues to deal with the sudden loss.

Local officials have expressed concern over the violence that unfolded within the municipal compound, prompting discussions on reinforcing professionalism and mental health support among security personnel.
In an earlier report from KAMI, a family of three was brutally gunned down inside their own store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. CCTV footage showed three armed men entering the establishment, pulling the roll-up door shut, and executing the victims. Before escaping, one of the suspects was seen taking a bag and a cellphone from the family. According to a report by Gary De Leon of TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas, the victims had begun receiving threats after lending ₱1 million to a fellow resident, who allegedly used the money as capital for a business.
Meanwhile, a separate incident in Las Piñas City also made headlines after a 51-year-old public school teacher was stabbed several times by her husband. The report from EJ Gomez of Unang Balita stated that the 38-year-old suspect attacked his wife inside the school’s faculty room. Although the school had a security guard on duty, authorities explained that the suspect managed to enter and leave the campus easily because he was already familiar to school personnel. The husband told investigators that he had intended to talk to his wife to resolve their dispute, but the conversation escalated into a heated confrontation that tragically turned violent.
