According to the DOJ, its panel of prosecutors determined that the evidence provides reasonable certainty of conviction, prompting them to move forward with formal charges.
In its resolution, the DOJ stated that Ang and the other respondents will face 10 counts of kidnapping with h&micide
The agency explained that these charges stem from incidents involving missing individuals whose whereabouts remain unknown to this day.

Prosecutors added that the respondents will also be charged with 16 counts of kidnapping with serious illegal detention.
The DOJ said that some individuals initially included in the complaints will not face charges at this time. In its statement, the department explained the decision by noting that “the case/s were dismissed without prejudice to the refilling of any complaint with the Department of Justice should future evidence arise linking them directly to the acts of unlawful detention.”
Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and that more developments are possible if new testimonies, digital records, or other forms of evidence surface.
For the families of the missing cockfight enthusiasts, the DOJ’s findings mark a significant progression in a case that has remained unresolved for years, leaving them with unanswered questions and profound grief.
As the charges move forward, prosecutors are preparing for the next legal steps while coordinating with law enforcement agencies involved in the broader search for justice.
The DOJ has reiterated its commitment to pursuing accountability and ensuring that all individuals proven responsible for the abductions are held to account.
In Quezon City, a lawyer was taken into custody after being accused of luring victims into bogus investment schemes. Investigators said she collected ₱140,000 from a couple with the promise of weekly earnings amounting to ₱5,600. Police added that she had been jailed before for a similar complaint but disappeared after posting bail. Authorities are encouraging other victims to come forward so the case can potentially be elevated to syndicated estafa.
In a separate report, a ceiling inside a Grade 4 classroom at Lapu-Lapu Elementary School in Davao City suddenly gave way on October 7, 2025.
