Residents of Barangay Maoyod in Legazpi City were taken by surprise after a large python was caught in their area at the height of flooding on the morning of December 6, 2025.

The incident happened around 9:56 a.m., as continuous rainfall from a storm triggered rising waters in several parts of the city.

According to the community members, the snake may have emerged from a drainage canal that overflowed due to the heavy downpour.

Local volunteers moved quickly to secure the reptile and ensure that no one in the vicinity was harmed.
