In the Philippines, killing a relative can be classified as murder or parricide, depending on the relationship.

Parricide applies if the victim is a spouse, parent, child, or legitimate/adopted stepchild, and carries the same severe penalties as murder.

Killing other relatives, like nephews or cousins, is usually considered murder, especially if done with intent or using aggravating circumstances such as a weapon or premeditation.
