Camera catches a burglar entering a store in Mandaluyong City

CCTV captured the moment a man broke into a store in Barangay Daang Bakal, Mandaluyong City, where a 71-year-old woman was sleeping.

Two men were first seen walking near the store early Saturday morning. One of them kept checking the door while watching the sleeping woman.

Moments later, he entered the store and took something, hiding it inside his shorts before leaving in a hurry.

His companion acted as a lookout outside.

The same man returned and grabbed the cash box, but he put it back when someone suddenly passed by the house.

He then hid near the woman’s feet as she slept. When she woke up, he tried to bless her hand before he rushed outside. The woman stepped out moments later and tried to chase the suspects.

According to the victim, the men took her cellphone worth almost P30,000. The cash box held more than P10,000 from the day’s sales.

She recalled waking up to the man beside her and asking who he was before he fled. She felt scared but thankful nothing worse happened.

The incident was reported to local officials and the police.

Authorities discovered the suspects had been linked to previous thefts in other parts of Mandaluyong.

Barangay officials said they already know the names and addresses of the men. Police are continuing their search to arrest the suspects.

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
