· Senator Imee had publicly accused the President of drug addiction and implicated other family members, including Sandro
· Sandro labeled the accusations a "web of lies" aimed at destabilizing the government for his aunt’s political ambitions
· He called Senator Imee’s actions a betrayal of a family agreement not to be dragged into their parents' disputes
House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander "Sandro" Marcos , in a rare and painful public display of the widening rift within the Philippines' most powerful political family, issued a blistering statement denouncing the allegations made by his aunt, Senator Imee Marcos, against his father, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and his mother, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
Sandro’s statement was a direct and emotional rebuttal to Senator Imee’s speech at a recent rally organized by a major religious group in Manila, where she publicly accused the President of being a longtime drug addict—an accusation the President's camp and communications officials have strongly rejected as a recycled political distraction.

Senator Imee also shockingly alleged that the First Lady and the President's children (including Sandro) were also drug users.
Congressman Marcos, who acknowledged the crucial role Senator Imee played in the early part of his political career, emphasized that his respect for her remains, but he could not stand idly by as she resorted to what he called a dangerous and unfounded attack.
"It pains me to see how low she has gone to the point that she resorts to a web of lies aimed at destabilizing this government to advance her own political ambitions," Sandro stated.
He categorically denied the accusations, stressing their lack of basis, truth, and benefit to the country.
The Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative was particularly hurt by the way his aunt breached a long-standing family agreement.
"We always agreed that whatever happened between our parents, we wouldn't let ourselves be dragged in. That is why nakakalungkot makita na ginagawa niya ito (it's sad to see her doing this)," he wrote.
The feud marks a serious escalation in the political tensions between the President and his elder sister, who has publicly allied herself with former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte, both of whom have had an increasingly strained relationship with the current administration.
Senator Imee has been vocal in her defense of the former President, especially after his arrest on an International Criminal Court warrant.
Sandro’s statement took aim at the divisive nature of his aunt's actions, urging the nation to prioritize cohesion over chaos.
"Now is the time to unite behind truth, not to amplify narratives meant to topple the government," he declared. "The time now is for cooperation, not for spreading trouble and destabilization."
To further counter the personal insinuations, the young congressman invoked the support of his cousins—Borgy, Vice Governor Matthew, and Atty. Michael—to attest to the falsity of the allegations made against him.
In a heartbreaking close, Sandro summarized his anguish over the betrayal, stating: "HINDI ITO ASAL NG ISANG TUNAY NA KAPATID (This is not the behavior of a true sibling)."
His emotional statement underscores the personal agony of a family feud spilling onto the national political stage, sacrificing familial loyalty for political gain.
Ferdinand Alexander Araneta Marcos III, better known as Sandro Marcos, is the son of President Bongbong Marcos and Atty. Liza Araneta. The young Marcos, the eldest of among three siblings, is a Representative of the 1st district of Ilocos Norte. He is the grandson of the late President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos and First Lady Imelda Marcos.
Several months ago, the presidential son and Ilocos Norte congressman became the first to sign the fourth impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Before signing, Sandro asked for some advice from his father, Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. In an interview with the press people, the House Senior Deputy Majority Leader and Ilocos Representative shared what his father told him. “And tama naman yung sinabi niya,” Sandro likewise reacted.
In an interview with the press people, the House Senior Deputy Majority Leader and Ilocos Representative cited his reasons for taking the lead in signing the impeachment complaint. The Presidential son also stressed that his move should not come as a surprise. It can be recalled that a total of 215 out of 306 House members supported the impeachment complaint against the country’s second-in-command.
