“Had the rare opportunity to interview political icon Juan Ponce Enrile on both his 99th and 100th birthdays, picking the mind of someone who helped write the country’s history as participant and adviser to most of the administrations since Ferdinand Marcos Sr. Amazing lifestory from poverty to power,” she wrote, reflecting on the senator’s extraordinary journey from humble beginnings to the highest levels of Philippine politics.

She shared one of the lessons she took from their conversations. “One of my takeaways: ‘If you have lived as long as I have staying in politics you see that personalities are heroes today, villains tomorrow and then heroes again and so on — depending how long you stay.’” Korina noted that this insight remains relevant as people continue to evaluate Enrile’s complex legacy.

Korina Maria Sanchez-Roxas, better known as Korina Sanchez, is a Filipino television news anchor, magazine show host, newspaper columnist, broadcast journalist, and senior field correspondent. She became known as a feisty and a no-holds-barred journalist. Korina tied the knot with the influential Araneta scion and politician Mar Roxas on October 27, 2009 in Quezon City. The couple have twin children named Pepe and Pilar.
As previously reported by KAMI, Korina Sanchez responded to a netizen who commented about her past interviews with so-called “nepo families.” The follower praised her for featuring influential clans, saying her work has provided material that can now be used to scrutinize them. The veteran journalist addressed the remark by stressing that this was not her intention when she conducted the interviews. Over the years, Korina has sat down with well-known personalities from political dynasties and showbiz clans, giving the public a glimpse into their private lives and perspectives. These interviews, often remembered for their exclusivity and depth, have since resurfaced in online discussions where netizens attach new interpretations to them.
Earlier, veteran journalist and host Korina Sanchez and her camp called out Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for his recent Facebook post slamming certain journalists for interviewing Sarah and Curlee Discaya before the 2025 Election. In the viral post, the mayor said that journalists and news personalities should have asked themselves first why those people were supposedly willing to pay millions just to be interviewed. He also shared screenshots from Korina and Julius Babao’s separate interviews with the Discayas. Korina’s camp then released a statement regarding the post.
