According to a report by EJ Gomez on "Unang Balita" on Friday, police said the woman introduced herself as part of the media when she arrived at the municipal hall.
She reportedly asked the mayor’s office for a list of the municipality’s accomplishments, claiming these would be published by her supposed news organization. Police Captain Fernan Romulo, Deputy Chief of the Rodriguez Police, said the municipal administrator politely declined, explaining that the municipality already had its own official platform.
The suspect then insisted on a meeting with the mayor, but because the visit was unplanned, the office could not accommodate her.

When that request was denied, she allegedly demanded reimbursement for her travel expenses. After being refused again, the woman reportedly began issuing threats.
“Nag-threaten siya na maglalabas siya ng negative publicity against the municipality of Montalban,” Romulo said, noting that Rodriguez is officially named Montalban under Republic Act No. 11812.
The municipal administrator immediately sought police assistance, leading to the arrest of the woman from Quezon City.
The suspect claimed she was merely a correspondent from a Mindanao-based news outfit and wanted to submit a proposal to the mayor.
She denied threatening anyone and apologized, saying the situation stemmed from a misunderstanding.
“Ako po ay humihingi ng paumanhin… Hindi ko po talaga intensiyon na gumawa po ng hindi maganda sa inyo,” she said.
The woman is now detained at the custodial facility of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station and faces a complaint for grave coercion. GMA Integrated News is still awaiting comment from the Montalban LGU.
