Pumanaw si Alas Pilipinas player Ike Barilea dalawang araw matapos ang kanyang ika-21 kaarawan.

Kinumpirma ng national team ang balita sa isang post sa Facebook noong Nobyembre 11.

Ayon sa team, ramdam nila ang bigat ng pagkawala ni Barilea. Sinabi nila na tila mas tahimik ang court at mas mabigat ang kanilang puso.

Nagpasalamat din ang grupo sa mga tawa, alaala, at dedikasyon na ibinahagi ni Barilea sa koponan.

Dagdag pa nila, nakatagpo ng isang anghel ang langit, ngunit nawalan sila ng isang mahalagang bahagi ng kanilang pamilya.

Hindi ibinahagi ng Alas Pilipinas ang dahilan ng pagkamatay ng batang manlalaro.

Si Barilea ay tubong Negros at kabilang sa men’s pool ng Pilipinas para sa 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship bilang opposite spiker.

Bago sumabak sa national team, naglaro siya para sa 1Silay Volleyball Club sa 2025 PNVF U21 National Volleyball Championships Men’s Division.

Sa murang edad, pinahanga ni Barilea ang marami dahil sa kanyang husay at determinasyon. Patuloy siyang aalalahanin ng kanyang mga kasamahan at tagahanga bilang inspirasyon sa larangan ng volleyball.
