A couple ended up in jail after authorities caught them with one kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million during a buy-bust operation in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
According to a report from GMA Regional TV Balitanghali on Wednesday, police recovered the illegal substance from the suspects after posing as buyers.
The operation was part of an ongoing effort to stop large-scale drug traffick!ng in the region.
Investigators revealed that the suspects were not only operating in Dipolog but also distributing illegal substance throughout the Zamboanga Peninsula.

They allegedly used a rented vehicle to deliver and transport the illegal substances from one city to another.
Aside from the illegal substances, the authorities seized the rented car, which they believe played a key role in the suspects’ operations.
Police are also looking into their possible connections with a wider drug network in Mindanao.
The arrested couple refused to give a statement about the case.
They are now detained and will face formal charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Dr*gs Act of 2002, which imposes severe penalties on drug-related offenses.
Authorities said this arrest is a major blow to illegal drug operations in the area and warned that similar intensified operations will continue to catch other drug dealers.
