A former Maguindanao del Sur board member narrowly escaped death after unidentified assailants ambushed his vehicle in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat, on Monday morning.

According to a report from GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the victim, identified as Taharuddin Mlok, was driving his own car when the attackers opened fire.
Fortunately, his vehicle was bulletproof, allowing him to survive the assault unharmed.
Photos from the scene showed multiple bullet marks on the windshield, driver’s side window, and door—clear evidence of the intensity of the attack.

Witnesses said the suspects fled immediately after the shooting, leaving the shaken official inside his heavily damaged vehicle.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the ambush. Investigators are currently reviewing possible leads, including surveillance footage from nearby areas, to identify the perpetrators.
Law enforcement personnel are also trying to obtain Mlok’s official statement to aid the ongoing investigation.
Local police have heightened security measures in the area following the incident, which has sparked concern among residents.
As of this writing, no suspects have been arrested, and the motive for the attack remains unknown.
Officials have condemned the assault and vowed to bring the culprits to justice, emphasizing the importance of safety for public servants even after their term in office.

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big argument.
