In Olango Island, another resident tried to protect their chickens from being carried away by the strong current.
The owner tied the chickens and hung them from the ceiling inside the house.
This was their way to keep the animals above water, as parts of the home were already flooded. The chickens stayed there until the water went down.
Talisay City was among the hardest-hit areas in Cebu. Floodwater reached homes and roads, leaving many families stranded.
Some houses were almost fully submerged, and several vehicles were seen floating or stuck along the roads.
Many residents tried to save what they could while waiting for the water to subside.
Local authorities and rescue teams continued to monitor the situation. Cleanup and repair operations are expected to take days as communities recover from the heavy flooding.
