Her death not only brought grief but also admiration for the humble way she chose to live as a public servant.
Pasquin, the presiding judge of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Pinamungajan-Aloguinsan, was known for commuting to work by motorcycle, even though she owned a car.
According to the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law - Office of the Dean, she believed that “public servants should live modest lives” and considered it “an injustice to the taxpayers” to do otherwise.

“She wanted to set an example—for the public to see her living simply and with integrity,” the UP Law office said, paying tribute to one of its proud alumnae.
Born in Cebu City, Pasquin moved to Iloilo after passing the Bar in 2011, where she practiced law privately before being appointed Clerk of Court in 2019. She later became a judge in September 2024.
The Supreme Court honored her legacy, saying, “Though her stint as a trial judge was abruptly ended, her simplicity, modesty, and dedication to judicial duty reflect the moral compass that everyone in the judiciary must faithfully adhere to.”
Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro also remembered Pasquin as “always dedicated, the first to arrive and the last to leave, a model of modesty, humility, and unwavering integrity.”
