A 29-year-old man suffered severe head injuries after being struck with a piece of wood in Happyland, Tondo, Manila.

CCTV footage captured the moment he was confronting someone when a man came from behind and hit him in the head last Friday.

The victim collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors said he needed surgery.

According to the victim’s father, the incident began after he had a disagreement with the suspect’s friends, who allegedly disrespected him.

When his son found out, he tried to defend him, which led to the attack. The father said he could not understand why the suspect got involved when the issue was not about him.

The 19-year-old suspect later turned himself in to the authorities.

His mother explained that the conflict started when the victim’s father accused one of her son’s friends of hurting his nephew and even hit one of them.

The victim’s father admitted this part of the story.

The suspect’s mother said her son lost control after the confrontation and expressed remorse for what happened.

She apologized to the victim’s family and said they were trying to raise money to help with medical expenses.

Barangay officials said they were working to obtain additional CCTV footage to see how the fight started. The suspect is currently detained and facing a charge of frustrated murder.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
