The grim details—her hands bound, her body hogtied, and her lower garments removed—sent shockwaves of grief and outrage throughout the city.

The autopsy later confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxia (choking), with clear signs of molestation also noted.

Speaking to the media, Police Captain Francis Depasucat, the station commander of Bacolod Police Station 1, disclosed that the investigation is now hyper-focused on multiple persons of interest.

"We currently have their aliases," Captain Depasucat stated, "but we are in the process of verifying their true and complete identities."

He confirmed that the initial assessment suggests more than two individuals were likely involved in the heinous crime.

The police effort is a race against time, with investigators meticulously gathering the necessary evidence to file air-tight criminal complaints.

Captain Depasucat admitted that while they have strong leads on the suspects, they are in critical need of additional concrete evidence and, most importantly, key witnesses to fully solidify the case.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to focus exclusively on this high-profile case, has been relentlessly reviewing CCTV footage, including video recovered from the area near Go’s boarding house, in an attempt to trace her final movements and identify her companions or attackers.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Lester Leada, the BCPO Deputy City Director for Operations, who was designated to lead the Special Investigation Team, clarified the police organization's procedural framework.

He explained that a Special Investigation Team (SIT)—as opposed to a Task Group—was created because the case's scope is confined to the city and is not directly overseen by the Police Regional Office. Lt. Col. Leada emphasized that while the SIT from the BCPO inventory and consolidates evidence, the local station commander remains primarily responsible for the crucial on-the-ground work, such as interviewing potential witnesses and gathering primary evidence.

The Bacolod City government and its residents remain united in demanding justice for the brutalized teenager, with Mayor Greg Gasataya having previously offered a P100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.

The police’s latest update, confirming the aliases of multiple suspects, provides the grieving family and the horrified public with a glimmer of hope that the vile crime will soon be solved and the killers brought to face the full force of the law.
