A heartbreaking tragedy struck a family on Monday night, October 27, 2025, when a powerful collision between their motorcycle and a dump truck on the national highway in Barangay Magnaga resulted in the instantaneous and complete loss of three family members.

Authorities identified the victims as Corporal Jennifer Pacquiao, an active member of the military; his wife, Lessil, who was reportedly pregnant; and their 13-year-old child.

The lives of the soldier, the mother, and their young son were cruelly extinguished in a moment of reckless negligence on the road.

Initial investigation reports point to the dump truck driver’s dangerous maneuver as the direct cause of the accident.

The family was traveling on their motorcycle along the national highway, heading towards Mati City in Davao Oriental.

Simultaneously, the dump truck was coming from the opposite direction. Investigators concluded that the truck attempted a sudden and illegal overtaking maneuver of a vehicle ahead of it, crossing into the opposite lane and consequently slamming head-on into the unsuspecting family's motorcycle.

The impact of the collision was described as severe, instantly throwing the three victims from their motorcycle.

They suffered catastrophic injuries due to the powerful force of the crash. Despite the swift response of rescue teams, who immediately rushed the family to a nearby medical facility, all three victims were sadly declared dead upon arrival.
