The Department of Transportation has suspended the license of the pickup driver who assaulted an elderly bus driver in the middle of the road in Silang, Cavite.
According to the agency, the Land Transportation Office’s Intelligence and Investigation Division will summon the driver on October 24, 2025, to explain his side regarding the incident.
Based on the report from the Silang Municipal Police Station, the confrontation happened after a collision between a Toyota Hilux, driven by Arny Jose Montes, and a public utility bus.
The LTO ordered Montes to appear before them and explain why he should not be charged with reckless driving and why his license should not be permanently revoked.

DOTr acting chief Giovanni Lopez said the agency will not let such misconduct go unpunished.
He emphasized that they will continue suspending the licenses of drivers involved in road rage cases, especially those caught on video.
Lopez stressed that the video clearly showed how the pickup driver hurt the elderly bus driver, and the DOTr will make sure proper actions are taken.
A viral video of the incident shows the pickup driver repeatedly hitting the senior citizen, while the older man tried to return to the bus he was driving.
The video has sparked outrage among netizens calling for justice and stricter action against aggressive drivers.
