Pickup truck tries escaping after hitting a father-son riding a motorcycle

A father and his young child were put in danger after being sideswiped by a white pickup truck believed to have a diplomatic plate in Pasay City.
In a viral video shared online, the truck did not stop after hitting the motorcycle driven by the father, with his student son riding behind him along EDSA on Wednesday morning.
The rider chased the pickup and caught up with it near a service road corner where traffic had slowed.
He blocked the vehicle using his motorcycle, though his child was still on board.

Despite this, the pickup tried to escape again, almost hitting the motorcycle with the boy still there.
When the father approached the driver’s side to confront him, the driver sped off and escaped toward Roxas Boulevard going to Manila.
The rider went straight to a nearby police station to report the incident.
Police have already contacted the Land Transportation Office to trace the vehicle owner.
According to Police Captain Alvin Bagay, Chief of the Vehicular Traffic Investigation Section of Pasay CPS, they are still verifying if the plate number indeed belongs to a diplomat and have started backtracking footage along Roxas Boulevard to find where the pickup went.
Authorities said the driver may face multiple charges, including reckless driving and violation of RA 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
Police will also request the suspension of the driver’s license from the LTO.
