Ex-lover fatally stabs woman to death at her workplace in Ilocos Norte

A 30-year-old woman, Lovely Pagaduan, was brutally stabbed to death by her former live-in partner at her place of work.

The tragic event unfolded last Saturday at a store in Barangay 18 San Pedro, where Pagaduan worked.

According to the investigation conducted by local police, the 28-year-old suspect, Froilan Gaspar, reportedly went to Pagaduan’s workplace and proceeded to stab her repeatedly in a sudden and violent assault.

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Lovely Pagaduan succumbed to her injuries, dying tragically at the hands of her ex-partner.

Gaspar fled the scene immediately after the heinous crime but was swiftly apprehended by authorities during a hot pursuit operation.

Following his arrest, the suspect confessed and admitted to the crime. He claimed the stabbing was an act committed out of his overwhelming love for the victim.

Police investigators revealed that Pagaduan and Gaspar had ended their romantic relationship approximately a year ago, but had continued to see each other intermittently.

However, the suspect reportedly flew into a fit of rage after Pagaduan suddenly cut off all communication with him.

This sudden silence, he claimed, fueled his jealousy and anger, leading to the deadly confrontation.

The victim’s family, however, painted a different and darker picture of the relationship. Speaking to reporters, Lovely Pagaduan’s sibling disclosed that the victim had a history of being physically abused by Gaspar.

This prior history of violence only compounded the family’s pain and anger, making the suspect’s claim of "love" an unacceptable reason for her death.
