The accident occurred when a car of the track-based ride, designed to navigate a horror-themed path, allegedly tipped over, prompting a chaotic scene as passengers scrambled to escape.

Bacolod City Police Station 4 Commander Major Marc Joel Reclamado confirmed the incident, stating that initial investigations suggest the cause was primarily human-induced rather than mechanical failure.

According to Major Reclamado's statement to the media, the horror train's sudden imbalance may have been triggered by the anxious reactions of the riders themselves.

"It is possible that the train went out of balance after several passengers jumped [or moved erratically] due to the intense fear," the police official explained.

The frantic movements of riders, likely startled by the ride's programmed scares, caused the carriage to destabilize.

As the carriage lost its balance, panic escalated, leading a number of occupants to immediately jump out of the ride in an attempt to get to safety.

This rapid, uncontrolled egress is what is believed to have caused the resulting minor injuries among the seven victims.

Police identified four of the injured as adults of legal age, with the remaining three being minors. All seven passengers who sustained injuries were immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

Fortunately, reports indicate that the victims only suffered minor injuries, with no critical or life-threatening conditions reported.

The carnival operator's team and authorities conducted a preliminary assessment of the ride following the mishap.

Crucially, the police commander noted that no mechanical error was detected in the horror train itself prior to the overturn, which reinforces the theory that passenger reaction was the key factor in the accident.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the safety risks associated with amusement park attractions, even those where the intended danger is merely theatrical.

Local authorities are expected to conduct a more thorough investigation to review the carnival’s safety protocols and determine if additional measures should be enforced to prevent similar panic-related accidents in the future, particularly in high-thrill rides that rely on startling their patrons.

This unfortunate event has sparked concern among city residents regarding the safety standards of temporary amusement facilities operating in public areas.
