The arrest took place Wednesday night along Timog Avenue, Quezon City, as shown in a "Unang Balita" report by Jhomer Apresto.

The suspect, who is facing an estafa case in Santiago City, Isabela, was served a warrant of arrest in front of a restaurant.

According to police, a married couple filed a complaint after investing ₱140,000 in what they thought was a legitimate business venture.

The lawyer reportedly promised them weekly earnings of ₱5,600 but stopped communicating after receiving the money.

“Nag-set-up tayo ng meeting sa kaniya with the complainant na mag-additional ng investment... Pagdating sa isang restaurant sa Timog Avenue, isinilbi natin 'yung warrant of arrest sa kaniya,” said Lieutenant Colonel Joy Leanza, Commander of QCPD Station 8 - Project 4.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had been previously detained for a similar offense last year but failed to attend court hearings after posting bail.

Police believe she used her profession to easily gain the trust of victims, offering supposed investments in trucking and rent-a-car services.

Nearly 30 individuals have lodged complaints against the lawyer. Some clients also accused her of neglecting legal cases after receiving payments, including one who paid ₱200,000 for land title assistance that was never completed.

The suspect remains in police custody while awaiting a court commitment order. Authorities encourage other victims to come forward to strengthen the case for syndicated estafa.
