A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his 77-year-old mother after getting angry when she failed to prepare dinner for him in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Macupa, Leyte, Leyte.
Authorities identified the suspect as “Rick,” who was caught during a hot-pursuit operation in Barangay Belen, also in Leyte.
Based on the investigation, Rick had just come home from work when he found no food ready. In a fit of rage, he reportedly threw a stone at his mother’s head, killing her on the spot.
The victim’s other child discovered the body and quickly informed the police about the tragic incident.

A neighbor told investigators that Rick was believed to have a mental condition. Police are now conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the full details of the case.
