A brazen motorcycle theft in Dasmariñas, Cavite was caught on camera, showing how armed suspects cornered a rider and took his vehicle in the middle of the road.

According to a report on GMA News’ “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday, the incident happened along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Barangay Salitran.

The footage showed two riding-in-tandem suspects blocking the path of the victim.

Moments later, a third suspect arrived and pointed a firearm directly at the rider. Left with no other option, the victim was forced to get off his motorcycle.

The rider, still wearing his helmet, was seen walking away from the scene while the suspects fled with his motorcycle. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police said they are now conducting backtracking operations to identify the perpetrators and trace their escape route.

Authorities also appealed to witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation.

Motorcycle thefts and riding-in-tandem crimes have long been a security challenge in Cavite and other parts of the country.

Such crimes are often carried out quickly, leaving victims defenseless.

Local residents expressed concern over the incident, noting that the hold-up happened in a relatively busy area.

They urged police to increase visibility in key roads and strengthen community coordination to deter similar crimes.

Law enforcers reminded motorists to remain vigilant, especially at night, and to immediately report suspicious activities.

The case remains under investigation as authorities continue their pursuit of the suspects.

The incident was caused by the strong winds from Severe Tropical Storm Opong (#OpongPH). The taxi driver was reported safe and escaped without injury, despite the vehicle being crushed. Araneta City management confirmed the cause and committed to providing assistance for the driver and the vehicle's repair.
