A 26-year-old rider lost his life in an accident linked to drag racing in General Santos City.
Reports said the crash happened early morning on the national highway in Barangay Katanggawan.
According to the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), the tricycle was turning at an intersection when the speeding motorcycle hit it from behind.
The impact was so strong that the rider was thrown off and died on the spot.

The tricycle overturned, leaving the driver and four passengers injured. They were quickly brought to the hospital for treatment.
Police investigation showed the motorcycle was running at high speed because the rider was allegedly joining a drag race.
TEU Deputy Chief Police Capt. Lamberto Rabino Jr. confirmed that the victim’s family admitted their son was involved in drag racing.
Rabino reminded the public not to turn roads into race tracks since they are meant for all motorists.
He also warned that a single wrong move on the road can cost the life of the driver or others.
Authorities said those involved in the incident are set to meet regarding the case.
