The violent incident has raised concern in the community, with locals hoping the suspect will be caught soon to face charges.

In the Philippines, murder cases are treated as a serious criminal offense under the Revised Penal Code.

When a murder happens, police investigators are tasked to gather evidence, identify suspects, and file complaints.

Once a suspect is arrested, the case goes through inquest or preliminary investigation led by the prosecutor to determine if there is probable cause to file charges in court.

Murder is a non-bailable offense when the evidence is strong, which means the accused usually stays in jail while the trial is ongoing.

Trials are conducted in Regional Trial Courts, where judges hear testimonies from witnesses, examine evidence, and decide on the case.

If proven guilty, the accused can face reclusion perpetua or life imprisonment, and penalties may increase if there are aggravating circumstances.
