“Ito po ay ipinagkaloob ng bukal sa puso at aming tinanggap nang walang paghusga sa kalooban ng nagbigay,” the parish said in a Facebook statement.

The vehicle, a Nissan Navarra, was received “in good faith” on June 1 last year and has since been used for religious activities, including transporting the image of Our Lady of Salambao to various parishes during pilgrimages.

However, the parish clarified it is now taking steps to return the donation.

The move comes in line with the principles of the Diocese of Malolos and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), emphasizing the church’s stance on integrity and accountability.

Alcantara, who was cited in contempt for allegedly lying during a Senate inquiry, admitted to receiving luxury cars but denied involvement in corruption during the hearing on Friday, Sept. 19.
