“Tragically, the Domingo family has endured an unimaginable loss. On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Melissa Cui Domingo, 41, and her mother, Elizabeth Cui Domingo, 79, were both fatally shot in what authorities have described as a domestic-related double h0micide,” the fundraiser stated. The campaign said donations will help transport the remains to Maryland, cover funeral and burial costs, and provide care for Michael.
Authorities reported that Talebzadeh sustained an injury during the incident before being hospitalized.
By Tuesday, he was booked into Richmond County jail on two counts of murder and one count of cruelty to children in the first degree.
The fatal encounter came just days after Melissa was cleared of charges for a prior shooting involving Talebzadeh.
A court ruled she acted in self-defense, citing her diagnoses of post-traumatic stress disorder and battered person disorder after enduring years of abuse.
Melissa and Talebzadeh divorced in November 2024.
“Our hearts go out to the child who was present during this senseless tragedy,” Richmond County Sheriff Eugene Brantley said. “No child should ever have to experience such trauma.”
