Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto revealed that Curlee Discaya allegedly tried to set up a meeting with him through a mutual friend.
He shared this during an ambush interview with reporters after attending today’s House of Representatives hearing.
Vico said that last Thursday, a friend messaged him to ask if he was willing to meet with Discaya.
He explained that he refused, stressing that he would not entertain such a request, especially now that the Discayas are facing corruption allegations linked to flood control projects.

When asked by a member of the press if the invitation was really from the Discayas, Vico said there's no way that common friend of theirs would lie to him, that's why Curlee used the person to relay the invitation.
Watch the interview in the video below:
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, son of Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes, is a reform-driven leader who first served as a councilor in 2016 before ending the decades-long Eusebio dynasty by winning the mayoral race in 2019. Re-elected in 2022 and 2025, he is known for promoting transparency, accountability, and modern governance in Pasig. A Political Science graduate with a master’s in Public Management from Ateneo, he has gained international recognition, including being named an “Anti-Corruption Champion” by the US State Department in 2021.
In a previous report by KAMI, Mayor Vico Sotto issued a stern warning to the citizens of the Philippines regarding the current issues of the country. It can be recalled that Mayor Vico was invited and attended the hearing today at the House of Representatives. The topic mainly revolved, still, about the anomalies in the flood control projects, where contractors, lawmakers, and DPWH officials are being accused of corruption. Vico Sotto said the Filipino people should be careful with the things that they're hearing about the current issues of the country.
Additionally, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto issued a powerful statement during the hearing on the anomalies in flood control projects. Earlier this morning, Mayor Vico was invited and attended the hearing at the House of Representatives. When Rep. Terry Ridon asked him about the inconsistencies in the sworn statement of the Discayas during yesterday’s Senate hearing, Mayor Sotto said it was a blatant lie. In his explanation, Vico pointed out that if the Discayas only earned 2-3% per contract cost, how could they have an 11-digit net worth as they claimed in an interview?
