Atom Araullo did not hold back his thoughts as he took to social media to express his frustration over what he described as insincere displays of anger from some public officials.

On X, formerly Twitter, the journalist and documentarist posted a fiery remark about the way certain lawmakers and government figures react to issues of corruption and governance.
“Ang cringe ng performative outrage ng ibang mambabatas at opisyal natin,” he wrote, calling out what he viewed as exaggerated and disingenuous responses to controversies.
The Kapuso news anchor continued his statement in the same post, adding that “Eh sila naman yung nakikinabang sa korapsyon.”

“Para namang kaming ipinanganak kahapon mga mamser,” he added, implying that the public should not be treated as though they are naive or unaware of the realities of politics and governance in the country.
His remarks quickly gained attention online, with many netizens agreeing with his frustration over corruption and the alleged dramatic behavior of some politicians. Others commended Atom for using his platform to voice out what many citizens feel but often leave unspoken.
The post comes at a time when trust in government is shaky, as more Filipinos are becoming critical of empty political gestures and the absence of real accountability. Atom’s statement adds to the ongoing conversation on social media about the need for honest reforms and greater transparency.

Meanwhile, a few years ago, Atom filed a ₱2 million damage suit against SMNI hosts Lorraine Badoy-Partosa and Jeffrey "Ka Eric" Celiz. The legal action was sought after Badoy and Celiz's red-tagging allegations against Atom on national television and social media platforms. Atom decided to file the complaint to protect his family and defend press freedom. In July, Atom's mom, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Chair Emeritus Dr. Carol Pagaduan Araullo, also filed a similar complaint against Badoy and Celiz.
