In the Philippines, a contractor is a person or a company that provides services or labor to complete a project, usually in construction, engineering, or related fields.
Contractors may handle building houses, roads, bridges, or other structures, and they often supply both the workforce and materials needed for the job.
They can also manage projects for government or private clients, overseeing timelines, budgets, and compliance with safety standards.
Some contractors work independently as small business owners, while others operate larger firms that take on big projects.
In many cases, contractors are licensed and registered to legally operate, especially when dealing with construction and engineering works.
