The ambush, which occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, has left the local community and law enforcement in a state of mourning and resolve to capture the remaining suspect.

The incident unfolded near the corner of Primero de Mayo Street in Barangay 90, a typically busy area of Pasay City.

According to initial reports from the Pasay City Police, the victims were ambushed by two men on a motorcycle.

The motive behind the attack is believed to be robbery, though the circumstances quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

The police officer, whose name has not yet been officially released by authorities, was fatally shot during the attack.

Two civilians who were caught in the crossfire also sustained gunshot wounds and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

As of a recent update, they are reported to be in stable condition, with their identities also withheld for their privacy.

Following the shooting, a swift response from local police led to the immediate apprehension of one of the suspects.

The authorities were able to capture the motorcycle driver, who is now in police custody and is facing charges related to the incident.

However, the gunman, who is considered the primary assailant, managed to escape the scene and remains at large.

Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation to track down the fleeing suspect, using the information provided by the arrested driver and witness accounts.
