A day care center in Barangay Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City was left in disarray after it was forcibly entered and ransacked early Friday morning, August 15.

Upon arrival, day care workers were shocked to find the rooms in complete disorder—scattered notebooks and papers, broken items, and even a table vandalized with obscene drawings.

Authorities reported that the suspects gained entry by destroying the wooden door and screen door located at the rear of the center.

In a bizarre detail, investigators also discovered chicken bones inside the facility.

Police believe the suspects fried and consumed chicken from the center’s food supplies, which were originally intended for the children.

The incident has left the facility not only damaged but also stripped of its provisions for the pupils.

“We are deeply troubled by what happened. The food and supplies were meant for the children’s meals, and now we will have to find ways to replace them,” one of the workers said.

The break-in has now added to the center’s challenges, as staff face the task of repairing the damages caused by the intrusion.

The loss of food supplies further complicates their operations, leaving the welfare of the children temporarily affected.

Police are conducting a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects behind the crime.

Authorities have assured residents of increased patrols in the area to prevent similar incidents.
