Cebu City police arrested two men on Sunday morning, August 17, after allegedly robbing a jeepney passenger in Barangay Lorega, Manila Bulletin reported.

Authorities identified the suspects as Vinz Niel Rayna Canucat, 23, and Arjohn Pobadora Boles, 18. Their alleged cohort, Michael Villanueva Jr., remains at large.
According to the investigation, the suspects boarded a jeepney along New Imus Road where they targeted a 21-year-old female passenger.
The victim told police that the two men pointed a gun at her and declared a holdup before taking her belongings, including an iPhone 12, and fleeing the scene.

The victim immediately proceeded to the Parian Police Station to report the crime.
Police verified the identities of the suspects and launched a follow-up operation.
While initial attempts to find them in their houses in Barangay Lorega failed, investigators received a tip that eventually led to their arrest.
Recovered from the suspects were a .357 revolver and the victim’s stolen cellphone, police said.
Police Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, deputy city director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office, confirmed that a follow-up investigation revealed the two men had prior arrests related to illegal g@mbling.
Authorities are still pursuing Villanueva, who remains at large.
Police assured the public that intensified operations will continue to ensure the safety of commuters and curb similar crimes.
The arrested suspects are now facing charges of robbery with violence and intimidation.
