The incident, which also hurt a third classmate, has left the families shattered and grappling with the medical and emotional fallout.
In their statement, Percival Sanchez and Michelle Balasbas, the parents of two of the victims, confirmed that their sons were on their way home from school, still wearing their uniforms and carrying their bags, when the tragedy struck.
They shared that one son remains in critical condition in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and is scheduled for surgery, while his brother sustained injuries and is suffering from severe trauma.
The couple described their children as bright, innocent, and high-achieving students who have always been a source of pride for their family.
"Seeing our sons go through so much pain and suffering is too heavy to bear," the statement read, as the parents pleaded for prayers for their children's healing and full recovery, as well as for their friend and his family.
The parents have also expressed their gratitude to those who have offered prayers and financial assistance during this difficult time.
The families are not just seeking help; they are demanding accountability. The statement explicitly requested that the investigation into the "horrible incident" be expedited.
They urged all relevant national and local government agencies to ensure that those who showed negligence in their duties and responsibilities are held both criminally and civilly liable.
"Legal remedies are options that we will seriously consider," the parents affirmed, signaling their intent to fight for justice.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed that the three victims are students of Don Roces Science High School.
According to the QCPD, the concrete debris fell from the upper portion of a condominium at the corner of Tomas Morato and Roces Avenue.
A police report also noted that two of the victims suffered serious head injuries, while a third sustained an injury to his arm.
The Quezon City government has already launched an investigation into the matter and has vowed to extend assistance to the families through its Social Services and Development Department.
