Authorities were surprised to find a variety of high-powered weapons, including an automatic shotgun, a sniper rifle, a .45 caliber pistol, a revolver, and various types of ammunition.

Additionally, a Chinese flag was found inside the suspects' home, adding to the intrigue of the case.

According to a police report from a GMA Integrated News broadcast, the operation was initiated after a confidential informant alerted the authorities to the suspicious activities of the two foreigners.

The tip detailed how the Chinese nationals were frequently seen entering and exiting their residence with firearms.

This led police to secure a search warrant, which was successfully executed, leading to the discovery and seizure of the illegal weapons.

Police officials are now looking into the background of the two arrested individuals. Initial speculation suggests they may be former employees of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) industry.

The police also stated that they are not ruling out the possibility that the men could be spies or members of the People's Liberation Army, a hypothesis that adds a national security dimension to the case.

The discovery of the Chinese flag further fuels these theories, prompting a deeper investigation into their motives and connections.

The confiscated firearms will be subjected to a ballistic examination to determine if they have been used in any crimes.

The two Chinese nationals are currently detained at the Makati City Police Station and are facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges of monitoring foreign nationals, particularly those with possible ties to the country's POGO industry, and the need for heightened vigilance against potential threats to national security.
