However, the conversation quickly escalated, ending with the suspect shooting the teenage girl and then himself.

While the suspect's life has now ended, the 15-year-old victim's fight for survival continues. She remains in critical condition at the hospital, battling for her life after sustaining a gunshot wound from the caliber .22 handgun used in the crime.

The police are still actively investigating how the 18-year-old managed to obtain the firearm and bring it onto school grounds.

In an official statement released on Thursday, Police Major Dulnuan revealed that the primary motive for the shooting appears to be a "crime of passion."

According to witness accounts from a friend of the victim, the suspect and the young student were a couple who had recently broken up.

The suspect, however, reportedly could not accept the separation, which authorities believe led him to carry out the devastating attack.

This tragic case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of unchecked emotional distress, especially in the context of broken relationships, and the devastating impact it can have on young lives.
