P680k worth of shabu seized from senior, companion in Cainta buy-bust

Authorities confiscated approximately P680,000 worth of suspected shabu from two alleged drug pushers, including a 68-year-old high-value individual (HVI), during a buy-bust operation in Cainta, Rizal, early Saturday, August 2, Manila Bulletin reported.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) identified the suspects as “Babeng,” 68, tagged as an HVI, and “Pusit,” 37, categorized as a street-level individual (SLI). Both were arrested around 2 a.m. in Barangay San Andres by the Drug Enforcement Team of the Cainta Municipal Police Station.
Recovered during the operation were approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu, a coin purse, P500 in marked money, and P1,500 believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.
The suspects are currently held at the Cainta Custodial Facility and are facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Rizal PPO assured that the province’s intensified anti-drug operations will persist.
“Under the leadership of Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalgo, our provincial director, the campaign against illegal drugs will continue across the province, with strengthened public service and a relentless fight against the drug menace in the community,” the PPO stated.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure safer communities free from the influence of illegal drugs.
