Authorities have since identified the man as 57-year-old Joel Guba, a resident of Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Police investigators have preliminarily ruled out foul play, suggesting the cause of death was medical-related.

The discovery was made at approximately 7:30 a.m. along Otek Street by a security guard on his routine patrol.

The guard noticed a taxi parked on the side of the road with the driver seemingly asleep inside. Concerned, the security officer approached the vehicle and knocked on the window in an attempt to wake him.

When the driver remained unresponsive, the guard immediately called for emergency medical services and alerted the local authorities.

Medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed that Guba was already deceased. According to initial findings from the Baguio City Police, there were no signs of a struggle or any external injuries on the victim, leading them to believe that the death was not a result of a crime.

The police have launched a full investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the man's passing, though a possible cardiac arrest is a primary consideration given the information provided by the victim's family.

Guba's wife, who was informed of the tragic news, told authorities that her husband had a history of various health conditions.

She confirmed that he had previously suffered a mild stroke and was regularly taking med1cation for hypertension.

These health issues corroborate the police's initial theory that his death was of natural causes. The family is now arranging to bring his remains home to La Trinidad.
