According to EJ Gomez’s report on "Unang Balita" this Friday, one of the bodies was spotted face-down in the river on Thursday. A group of fishermen first noticed the male victim and alerted authorities.

“He's a male, no upper clothing, wearing black short pants, with short hair, medium build, approximately 32-35 years old, and around 5’4” in height. No external injuries were found, so there is a high probability that he drowned,” said Police Colonel Geoffrey Fernandez, chief of Marikina Police.

Another body was found earlier on Wednesday afternoon in the same river. This victim had facial injuries, was also wearing only shorts, and had a tattoo on his back.

So far, no missing persons reports matching the descriptions have been filed in the area.

“They might have come from other locations and were swept away by floodwaters. We are appealing to anyone who might have missing relatives fitting these descriptions to come forward,” Fernandez urged.

Police have already collected DNA samples from both bodies to assist in identifying the victims. Investigations are ongoing to determine their identities and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
