In Bea Pinlac’s report on GTV News Balitanghali this Monday, CCTV footage shows the suspect and the victim with a few other teens seemingly talking in the middle of the street around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

Moments later, the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and chased the victim.

When the suspect caught him, he started stabbing the victim.

Itong lalaking ‘to kinausap 'yung kapatid ko. Tapos pinagsasaksak niya na,” said Nica Jean Mutuc, witness and sister of the victim.

According to Police Captain Zoilo Lopez, chief of the Sangandaan Police, the altercation began because of an exchange of threatening stares.

The teenage victim sustained stab wounds to his side and back.

The 16-year-old suspect ran away with his 19-year-old companion, but authorities were able to arrest them several hours later.

“Kursunada po kami. Ito pong kaibigan ko po, medyo mainit ulo,” said the suspect’s companion.

“Ito ho, aambahan na po. Lumapit po ako, nagkasagutan pa rin po, tapos hinabol po namin,” said the suspect.

He also claimed he didn’t know his friend had a knife.

However, the minor suspect gave a different statement at the barangay.

Ayun lang lagi niya sinasabi, nagdilim na daw 'yung paningin niya,” said Christopher Manuel, ex-o of Barangay 14, Zone 2.
