As an immediate measure, local authorities plan to construct a temporary footpath in the coming days to provide access for affected residents in Sitio Pag-Asa 1 & 2 and Southville Phase 3.

An alternate route via Barangay Cabuco is being considered, but its current muddy condition makes it impassable.

Other potential access roads are under evaluation, although these would require coordination with private landowners, Lubigan added.

Fortunately, the truck driver and his helper escaped the incident unharmed.

This bridge collapse comes as many areas in Cavite and neighboring provinces are grappling with the aftermath of continuous monsoon rains.

In parts of Laguna and Batangas, persistent flooding has forced evacuations, submerged farmlands, and rendered major roads inaccessible.

Metro Manila is also experiencing heavy flooding in several districts, with local governments suspending classes and work in affected areas.

Authorities are reminding residents to avoid the collapsed bridge and refrain from crossing nearby rivers, as water levels remain dangerously unpredictable due to the ongoing rainfall.
