This came after many netizens criticized the post’s attempt at humor, saying it was inappropriate during the ongoing calamity in the country.

In an interview with Arnold Clavio, Remulla apologized and explained that he may have been misunderstood.
He added that his humorous tone was meant to ease the heaviness of the situation, as it’s part of his natural personality.

“Siguro hindi nila ako naiintindihan. Pabiro talaga ako. Hindi ko naman minamaliit ang pinaghihirapan nila. Ang ginagawa ko lang, ang pagpapaalala ay ginawa kong mas magaan para hindi negative vibes lagi ang naririnig,” said DILG Sec. Remula. “Kung 'di naman nila naiintindihan ay humihingi ako ng pasensiya. Pero ganoon talaga pagkatao ko. Ano na lang, intindihin na lang ito na wala naman akong masamang intensiyon.”

In an interview with 'Igan' Arnold Clavio in GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' he said people might've misunderstood his point. He also added that it's really his nature to be humorous, in this case, to lighten the situation regarding the Philippine's weather to lessen the negativity around it. After his explanation, Sec. Remulla apologized if his way of announcing the class suspension was taken in a bad way by other people.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
