The bloody tragedy happened along the national highway of Barangay San Pedro, Aurora, Isebela.
All 9 passengers of the van were brought to the hospital, but 8 were declared dead on arrival, while 1 was still unconscious.
Additionally, 2 other passengers from the other van were also injured.
In a report by ABS-CBN's 'TV Patrol Weekend,' police said the passengers of the van was from Baguio City going to Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The truck driver was immediately put in police custody and could possible face reckless imprudence resulting in multiple hom!cide, physical injuries, and damage to properties.

If it caused serious injury, there is a lighter penalty, and if it only caused property damage, the punishment is even lighter.
Courts consider if the person was warned, if the accident could have been avoided, and if the carelessness was extreme.
Reckless imprudence is similar to criminal negligence in other countries.
