A female passenger from Canada was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday, July 15, after she allegedly attempted to smuggle approximately 24 kilograms of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of over ₱164 million.

According to the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP), the woman was apprehended during a routine inspection at the airport.
Authorities discovered the suspected illegal dr&gs concealed in her luggage.
This marks the second time in a single day that a Canadian national has been caught attempting to smuggle dr&gs through NAIA, raising alarm over the growing trend of foreign nationals being used as dr&g couriers or "mules."

Law enforcement officials have not yet released the identity of the suspect, but confirmed that she is now under the custody of the Philippine Dr&g Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for further investigation and possible filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Dr&gs Act.
The massive dr&g seizure adds to the Philippine government’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal dr&g tr@fficking at the country’s ports of entry.
Authorities said the operation was part of intensified security checks and intelligence coordination to prevent the entry of narcotics into the Philippines.
