An 8-month-old baby died after being thrown from a tricycle during a road accident in Barangay Sulangan, Dumangas, Iloilo on Monday morning. The baby was being carried by his uncle at the time of the incident.

According to CCTV footage, a motorcycle suddenly skidded and fell over while traveling on the road, crashing into an oncoming tricycle.
The impact caused both vehicles to topple, with the tricycle passengers—including the baby—being thrown off due to the force.
“The tricycle also overturned, and the passengers were thrown. Due to the strong impact, the uncle lost grip of the baby, who fell from the tricycle,” the report stated.

The motorcycle rider was also thrown off but quickly got up and rushed to help the tricycle passengers and the injured baby.
The infant was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while other tricycle passengers and the driver sustained minor injuries.
The 15-year-old motorcycle rider was also brought to the hospital for treatment and later turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in Dumangas.
Police are currently in talks with the family of the infant regarding possible legal action against the minor involved in the accident.
Authorities remind the public, especially young and unlicensed drivers, of the dangers of operating vehicles on public roads, stressing the need for caution and responsibility to prevent similar tragedies.
