The incident reportedly occurred after the group of students skipped classes and consumed alcoholic drinks, leading to a heated confrontation.
The footage, captured by a bystander with a cell phone, shows a group of Grade 8 students gathered under a tent.
Moments into the video, a female student wearing dark pants is seen slapping another student, dressed in a red skirt, causing her to fall back into a seated position.
Despite the clear aggression, other individuals present in the group reportedly remained spectators, failing to intervene.
The victim can be heard questioning her assailants, stating, "I didn't do anything wrong to you." Her plea was cut short as another female approached and delivered a second slap.
The victim remained unresponsive and did not retaliate, yet her companions continued to watch without intervening. The aggressors were even seen laughing during the assault while the victim sat silently.
The altercation escalated further when a third female delivered another slap. It was at this point that a nearby store owner intervened, approaching the group to break up the confrontation.
A separate video surfaced showing the same group of students standing near a garden area, where another confrontation ensued, marked by pushing and shoving.
The group was then seen in a state of panic as the victim reportedly collapsed and was pinned down by the person who pushed her. The store owner once again intervened to separate them.
The alarming incident, which took place on Tuesday, quickly caught the attention of Bambang Mayor.
Upon learning of the viral videos, the mayor immediately ordered a thorough investigation into the matter. The videos themselves were reportedly taken by another student who was part of the same group.
Initial investigations indicate that the students had skipped their classes and consumed alcoholic beverages near their school, leading to a heated argument that tragically escalated into physical violence.
The Schools Division Superintendent has confirmed that five students were allegedly involved in assaulting the victim.
Authorities have recommended that these students be transferred to different schools as a disciplinary measure.
Furthermore, counseling and debriefing sessions have been scheduled for the victim and all other students involved in the incident to address the psychological impact of the event.
Beyond the physical assault, authorities are also examining the possibility of filing cyberbullying charges, given that the videos of the assault were uploaded and widely shared online.
The victim's family has reportedly expressed their determination to pursue legal action against those responsible.
In a related development, the school official allegedly responsible for selling alcoholic beverages to the underage students will also be summoned for questioning.
The local government unit (LGU) of Bambang has since issued a stern reminder, emphasizing their existing ordinance prohibiting the sale of alcohol to minors, and has instructed local establishments to strictly comply with the regulation.
GMA Integrated News attempted to obtain statements from the students involved in the incident, but they reportedly declined to comment.
The incident serves as a critical reminder of the pervasive issue of bullying and the dangers associated with underage drinking, prompting calls for increased vigilance from both educational institutions and communities to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
