However, the taxi driver reportedly replied that it couldn't be helped since the taxi meter really works that way.

According to the same report, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Region XII has already determined the identity of the taxi driver, who was involved in the incident.

They have already asked the taxi driver to explain his side. Once proven that there was really a violation, they will revoke his license.

POST FOR AWARENESS!

"My parents are going home to DAVAO from Manila, around 9:26 pm last night July 5, 2025 they arrived at BANGOY INTERNATIONAL DAVAO AIRPORT. When they got out of the exit, they immediately looked for a TAXI to ride on their way to ECOLAND (bus terminal going to Digos City). My dad called and he said he has never seen a taxi and I told him to ask the guard where he can get a ride then he told him to just wait at the side of the airport exit because there is only a taxi passing by since he also has a PWD companion which This is my mom.

Around 9:51 pm, she called me again that's when she got a ride, they were together with my mom in the taxi. I told him to call me again when we are about to get off or even if you haven't gotten off the taxi yet so I can know how much you paid. But, I received a call from my father around 10:45 pm already, then he told me that they got off the taxi but what they paid was 2,970 pesos 😭 I was shocked! They paid so much, which to my knowledge ranges from 270 to 300 pesos only.
I told him why you didn't call me right away so I could catch up. He told me, he was arguing with the driver why he was paid so much but the driver said it was the one in the subway. Maybe because of the incident that's why she didn't call me right away. Same thing as my dad said, they got off the taxi with only 30 pesos received change for the 3,000 pesos they paid. Didn't receive a receipt and the driver left immediately when the stuff that my parents brought was unloaded. They didn't receive a complaint stub either.

It's painful to think about it because my parents didn't take a picture even if it's only on the plate number of the TAXI. Please, to the taxi drivers, be responsible in your life although not all are like that but please be merciful to those who are trying their best and you are just like that!
Please share this post for awareness to others. Thank you!"

In a previous report by KAMI, a family of three was mercilessly shot and killed inside their store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. Caught by CCTV, three men entered their store, closed the roll-up door, and shot the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspects even grabbed a bag and a mobile phone from the victim. In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
