Missing man found dead in river in Cebu in decomposing state

Authorities have confirmed the discovery of a man’s body in a river in Barangay Kamugaw, Pinamungahan, Cebu after he was reported missing for several days.

The body, identified as that of 33-year-old Joseph, a resident of Purok Piña in the same area, was already in an advanced state of decomposition when recovered.
According to a report by Brigada News PH, the lifeless body was found floating in the river and quickly drew the attention of local residents, prompting them to notify the police.
Initial findings from the Pinamungahan Police Station, as well as the statement from Joseph’s mother, revealed that he had been missing since June 24.

Joseph’s mother said her son was mentally challenged and had a tendency to wander away from home.
His condition often made it difficult to monitor his whereabouts, leading to past incidents where he would leave without informing anyone.
