The shooting happened around 4:00 a.m. just as the newlyweds were about to leave their celebration in a small village.

Reports say a group of armed men suddenly arrived at the reception venue and began firing indiscriminately.

The groom, his sister, and a 13-year-old child were injured in the attack, while the bride died at the scene.

One of the suspects also lost his life after reportedly being run over by the newlyweds' vehicle during the chaos.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of the bride, but local reports confirm that the groom and his wounded sister have existing criminal records, with the latter having a history of violent offenses.

The local mayor expressed anger over the incident, stating that the couple were not residents of the village and had only booked the town’s village hall for their wedding festivities.

Police have taken two suspects into custody, while investigations continue into what is now being treated as a case of murder and attempted murder.

Local officials suspect the incident may be gang-related, based on early leads provided by regional media sources.

Still in other news, a 16-year-old girl in Antipolo accused a tricycle driver of forcibly taking her to a hotel instead of bringing her home after work around 3 a.m. The victim said the driver ignored her pleas and sped up when she asked to be let off, "binilisan pa niya lalo 'yung takbo ng tricycle niya, natatakot na po ako nun." At the hotel, CCTV showed the driver holding her arm, and the girl said: *"hihingi po sana ako ng tulong kaso natatakot po ako sa kanya." The hotel cashier refused to let them check in after suspecting something was wrong, prompting the girl to threaten to report the driver, who then fled the scene, according to ABS-CBN.
