The swift and brazen attack was captured on security camera footage, providing crucial details for the ongoing investigation.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the suspects' motorcycle passing by the area before making a U-turn.

Moments later, the victim was observed walking towards a white motorcycle parked along the roadside.

As he approached the parked vehicle, the riding-in-tandem suspects pulled up directly behind him. The back rider quickly dismounted, and both assailants pursued the victim on foot.

The victim attempted to flee, but he was chased down and shot by the two unidentified suspects. He collapsed by the roadside but quickly managed to get back on his feet.

The assailants then returned to their motorcycle and sped away from the scene.

Eyewitnesses, including Barangay Kagawad Emy Aguda, recounted the shocking sequence of events.

"We were surprised, then other residents arrived and told us there was a shooting," Aguda stated. "They were chasing each other.

Suddenly, we saw him fall, and people who witnessed it said they heard a gunshot."

According to Aguda, the victim works as a delivery rider. The barangay official also mentioned that the victim reportedly participates in "sabong" or cockfighting.

"A relative mentioned he had allegedly lost in a cockfight, and he was supposed to meet someone to pay them. Then that’s what happened," Aguda shared, indicating a possible motive behind the attack.

The assailants were reportedly wearing helmets, preventing residents from identifying their faces.

The victim is currently recovering in the hospital, where he is being treated for the gunshot wound to his leg.

Kagawad Aguda also conveyed that the family has been informed that the victim's condition is "medyo delikado" (somewhat dangerous) and that he required two bags of blood transfusion due to significant blood loss while being rushed to the hospital.

As of Saturday, June 28, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident but confirmed that authorities are actively searching for the perpetrators.

The police are likely reviewing the available CCTV footage and gathering further witness testimonies to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting.

The incident adds to the list of challenges faced by law enforcement in combating crimes perpetrated by riding-in-tandem groups, which often rely on speed and anonymity to escape.
